Did you ignore a parking ticket?

Some motorists will have followed the ‘old’ advice to ignore private parking tickets, will not have engaged properly with the appeals process, or will have left it too late.

This may result in a Letter Before County Court Claim (LBCCC), or a County Court Claim Form (N1) from the bulk centres at Northampton (Money Claim OnLine) or Salford (paper claims) starting the legal recovery process. You must not ignore this, as a default judgment will affect your credit record severely.

The companies who are currently the most active in legal action are Parking Eye, Civil Enforcement, UKCPS, Excel, UKPC, VCS, District Enforcement, De Vere, Link Parking, MIL Collections and SIP.

Don’t worry, we can help!

Our experts can provide you with the correct legal wording for the response, and advice on how to proceed, if we take on your case.

If you have received a LBCCC threatening legal action, or Court Claim, please complete the contact form and we’ll get back to you.

You will also need to send us a copy of the first page of the claim form (the page with your name, address and claim number) or a copy of the LBCCC (scan and email to info@privateparkingappeals.co.uk)

Please note – if we respond to your LBCCC, and then you get a court claim, we would provide the initial defence at no extra charge.

Private Parking Appeals is not a regulated legal business, we cannot conduct your case for you, and we provide our services only as a Fee-charging McKenzie Friend. Your appeal and services may be provided by another company within the Private Parking Appeals group, but your contract is with Private Parking Appeals Ltd.

If you are in any doubt as to whether this is a suitable service for your needs, then we recommend you seek professional legal advice, or contact the Citizens Advice Bureau or a local Legal Advice Clinic.

However, we will provide you with every advice and assistance possible, all the way to the courtroom door.

If you have received a Judgment against you, we are regrettably unable to assist you, and would recommend you instead contact the BMPA, who will be able to give you advice and guidance. However, applying for a set-aside of a default judgment now costs £255, so it may not be worthwhile trying to do so.

Please note as well that, as a new customer, we cannot assist you with seeking to appeal a judgment, recover any payments you have made or make a claim against a parking company or landowner for compensation.

If you apply for our service for any of these reasons, we reserve the right to charge a processing fee of £6 for our administration time before any refund is paid.
